This is our favorite time of the year in Colorado! The temperature is cooler and you can sleep with your windows open. The leaves are changing colors and are beautiful with gold and red hues. It also means that year-end is fast approaching.
That brings us to the point of this post. It’s a great time to maximize your dental benefits. If you are like the majority of insured people, your insurance runs on a calendar year. You have paid into your dental plan monthly so be sure that you use your yearly maximum dental benefit allowed amount according to your plan.
- As long as your dental work is completed before 12/31/16 and billed on or before that date, that work will be applied to this year’s maximum amount that is allowed according to your plan.
- Most insurance plans cover 2 cleanings per year and cover 100% of any preventive work.
If you are unsure what amount of your remaining benefit has not be used, contact Meg and she will be more than happy to help you find out.
If you contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) remember many FSAs do not roll over into the following year. Maximizing your dental benefits is a good way to use the money you have already saved (pre-tax) for medical expenses.
