The Relative dentin abrasivity (RDA) is measured in different toothpaste brands. The American Dental Association recommends that we all use a toothpaste that is ranked with a low-value number. Notice that many of the "whitening" toothpastes rank higher in values. Whitening toothpaste is very abrasive. We recommend that patients use a low-value RDA ranked toothpaste.
